Legacy IV – Tan Rough Out

Personally, Legacy IV is our favorite boots. She’s tough, she can handle all-terrain, and she’s relatively flexible compared to the other Goodyear welted construction boots with same outsole configuration. Today we reissue this article with rough-out leather for the upper material. A “rough-out full grain leather” is a full grain leather that has had the leather placed rough side out when the boot is being manufactured with a distinctive hairy part of the rear part of the leather.

The reason why rough-out is tougher than full grain, is because rough-out leather insures maximum strength, support and abrasion resistance. When your shoes upper scratched, chipped part is the inside of the leather (flesh side), not the outer skin which hold water longer into the skin, this is also the reason why the rough-out has become a favorite leather upper material for alpine-mountaineering boots

Suede looks, but it’s not suede, it’s tougher than suede.
